Student quotes about iServe:
 |
"I-serve this year was amazing!
It was one of the best experience and opportunitys that I have ever got to experience. My iserve was with Mrs. Wyllie and Mrs. Chaplin, and everyday was loaded with tons and tons of activities and ways to serve others. After we where done serving others we would all hangout out and bond together closer and read and meditate on that days devotions. Our theme for that week was surrounded by Acts 20:20 "I have held nothing back". Hearing this verse helped me concentrate more on other and helping them and less on myself. This experience ha shifted my thinking and ways in a whole new direction. I have realized that I am much more prideful than i thought. Also, helping others is an amazing thing and even though you don't always get a thank you, but that is not what we need all we need is just the gift to help other in need. There are many memories that will last a life time! If I could do this again I would in an instant!!" |
"I serve was so much fun this year. I was on Mrs. Whyllie’s. I wanted to be on hers last year but there weren't enough spots. So I was so excited to find out I was in her group this year. We did so much stuff. We went over pride a lot and how it hinders your ability and willing to serve. I didn't’t know I had so much pride. It really opened up my eyes. I really like helping people. But in a way i felt i was being served because they were so nice and helpful. It was so much fun and I hope next year will be just as good or even better!"
iServe is our secondary school ministry and service week. Students choose groups to join with different service objectives. Some work in nursing homes, others clean homes, put on roofs, package goods for sick children, work in food banks, and many other situations. Groups have traveled as far away at New York City and some stay right in Santa Clarita. All students come back and share the great times they had serving others and appreciate how God has blessed them and allowed them to bless others.
On the left column are some of the groups video reports of the activities, work, and ministry the students have been doing, and not just talking about in 2009.
